To my parent friends: Are the above type of activity centers worth it? Muiread really likes to sit up at this point but really can't on her own. I know this is exactly sitting, but I think she would enjoy the "upness" and things to mess with. We plopped her in one this weekend and she did try to eat it, but we were in a store and I didn't want her to slobber all over the toys. So tell me good and bac things about this. Thanks!

Ok...I'm not a parent...but what the hell is that!? I think I'd be frightened by it. But...if the little one likes it...more power to her. I also was frightened of upside down amusement rides until I was 18.
And carneys...

OMG, BC is alive. I didn't know they had Internet access at the bridge site.

I think that green sock puppet thingie might try to eat her.
On another note, most of my friends who spawned children have had those things. Not sure if they are good or bad, but it is a place to put the kid for a while.

Josh really loves the one we borrowed from our neighbor, her son hated it. I let a co-worker borrow it for her grandson, and he loved it also. I would give it a thumbs up...

Not a parent but every single person I know is a parent & they all seem to have these crazy giant things. The kids seem to love them. The stylish parents seem to hate having them in the house.
However, that green thing in the back is kinda freaky looking.

OMG, Ben looooves his saucer/bouncer. He sits in there forever jumping and playing with (and eating) the toys. He got his for Christmas and it has all the crazy stuff--lights, music, stuffed parrots that hang above his head, etc. It is a little over the top, but it has really been a life-saver for us.

Yes, yes, yes! Very handy when you need 15 minutes or so to do something, ie. showering, taking out the dog. A pain in the butt to store once they outgrow it, so I would recommend borrowing one if you can. And I'm sure the creepy green thing is detachable. Also, experts say that you should limit time in them as it can delay crawling/walking if she can't see her feet and make the connection that those legs and feet are moving under her power.
Refer to a video on our website entitled "Bouncy Madness" for further proof! :)

Definitely get one, but do it "green". Get one on Craig's List and sanitize the heck out of it. It will provide you hours of relief from holding a baby who at some point in her next weeks/months will only want to be upright (like you!) constantly!

Yes, get one. It doesn't have to be that busy. Any exersaucer will do. She can play with her normal toys while sitting there.

We had one baby who loved the exersaucer, one who loved the jumperoo. We borrowed BOTH of them from other friends. If you're going to have more kids, go ahead and buy (and Craig's list is a great idea!) - it's probably worth it. If she's your one and only, I'd suggest borrowing from a friend.
