4-Months

smile.jpg
First, yes there are new pictures up. She's really getting a personality now as you'll see in the pictures.

Second, Muiread had her 4-month appointment today. More shots, which she did okay with, but we also got all the important numbers too:

  • Height: 23.5 inches (50th-%)

  • Weight: 12lbs, 4oz (30th-%)

  • Head: 16cm (50th-%)
  • She's still a peanut and is exactly double her take home weight. No concerns yet. I think we're going to stick with an all breastmilk diet for the time being as well. I'm lucky as I don't have supply issues and it's good for her anyway. At 6-months we'll introduce solids.

Anyway, that's what's up. Enjoy the pictures and leave comments, it's fun.

    Have you missed me?

Picture.jpgThis isn't the real update. I would anticipate a new update on Monday after her 4 month appointment. The pictures are almost ready to put up too, but I like to do it once a month.

Updates on us: Brandon and I have been going kind of crazy at work. Just busy busy and learning new things. It's good but it makes us both pretty tired at night. I think I fell asleep last night at about 8:30. I don't really know, it was during the Iowa game and when I fell asleep we were winning and seemed to have the game in control (in the first half).

Anyway, a real update will happen soon. Just consider this a teaser.

    ECFE

For those of you not in the know, ECFE = Early Childhood Family Education. We started our “birth-5 months” class yesterday. Well, I say we, but really I took her to scope it out and see if there were any other fathers there. There were so we’ll be going next week together. The trend has already started of her being old for her class. The other babies were all between 6 and 10 weeks and Muiread is 16 weeks today. In some ways that’s kind of fun because seeing her next to littler babies shows me that she really has grown.

She put on a good show during class; smiles, checking everything out, and general calmness. Her mom however was a little perplexed. How do these people already know these songs?!? I didn’t know any of them, but I guess I’ll learn. And why do people look at us in shock when we mention that we’re clueless and never have really even held a baby before this one? Are they worried for our daughter?

It was fun though and the other people there were really nice so hopefully if nothing else we can build a network of people up here. (since all of our baby-making friends are in Iowa).
