3-Months

So I know we haven’t been really good about updating this thing recently. Often I think of things to write, but then just don’t find the time to do it. Our schedule is finally settling in though and I think it will get a little easier, but don’t hold me to that.

Many exciting things have happened since the last real post. I went back to work on the 8th, so that has taken some adjustment. I kind of went back full steam and have been very tired at night, but I think I’m starting to get used to it again. With going back to work of course that means Muiread is at daycare all day. I think the toughest part of it is realizing that by the time you get home, there are only about 3 hours to enjoy her until it’s time to start the bedtime process.

Which brings us to the biggest news, Muiread has been sleeping in her own bed, in her own room since December 30th. Sometimes she uses a pacifier to fall asleep, sometimes not. Generally she goes to bed by about 9, wakes up between 1 and 2am, and then wakes up again between 4 and 5am. It just depends, but it’s something like that. It actually works out pretty well with our schedules for work. We’re very excited to have her out of our bed and do actually get better sleep. The best is when Brandon asks me “did she wake up last night?” I chuckle because sometimes she’s been up several times, so he definitely is getting better sleep.

I can’t believe Muiread is already three months old. She is growing and doing new interesting things. I didn’t really realize this until I was gloating to a friend yesterday. (so this is a repeat for that person) Some of her skills we enjoy more than others but they are all cute in their own way. Just to make it easier, here’s a bullet list of her new skills:

  • smiles from things we do, not just from pooping

  • roll from tummy to back pretty easily

  • almost can roll from back to front...gets really frustrated trying and gets about to her side

  • many fun sounds that aren't crying...we like to have conversations with her back and forth....she loves a short "a" sound

  • enjoys it when I sing silly songs to her
  • So that’s about it. There are new pictures in the Gallery. Enjoy.
