My Humps

So this is what I do in the summer, sometimes....

"Everyone is Pregnant or Playing Trombone"

syracuse07.jpgAbout two weeks ago we went to the Iowa/Syracuse game and finally the pictures are ready to go. Of course a 7pm kick-off means 6am tailgating. I was smart this year and found a later ride (thank you Ball Family). The day was long and tiring, but it was great to see everyone. The title of this point is brought to you from Wendy….and it was the best quote of the day. Our tailgate has become very kid heavy recently.

Animal House

Thought I would take this opportunity to share some cute pictures of the pets. They are still here, they just haven't been the focus recently.

Greta

Greta has had a rough year. First, back in January we noticed that Greta was limping. Couldn't really figure out why so of course we took her to the vet. After a few appointments it was discovered that after a tough Basketball game, our dog had torn her ACL. We opted to go the surgery route because we didn't know how bad everything was and she was young enough and thin enough to have success with the surgery. The surgery was successful although she did look funny with one shaved leg and a huge incision (which we never took a picture of, bad us). She is no longer limping and seems to be back to her old self. That said, she now has been "under the knife" again. This past Tuesday she went in for a normal check up, but I decided her teeth looked a little dirty so she might as well get them cleaned. Well, while she was knocked out, they removed one of her molars. Apparently it was cracked. I guess it's good I scheduled the teeth cleaning for her. She was really groggy after the tooth work, but she seems fine now. (and really enjoyed a few days of canned food)

Rudee

Rudee is fine. Always hungry and reminding us, but fine. We really wonder how she'll be when there's a baby in my lap instead of her. Brandon has decided she just isn't going to speak to me. I'll probably get the look in this picture a lot.

Hayden

Hayden is a new man since returning from California. I'm not sure what shock treatment therapy program my parents had him in, but he's much more cuddly. He still chases his tail and will randomly stare at the wall, but now he’ll actually cuddle. He’s just too cute sometimes. As far as he and the new arrival go, I’m sure he won’t even notice.

So that's the update on the animals. Hope you enjoyed.

34-weeks

34weeks.JPG
Okay, here finally is a picture. This was taken last night when I wasn't technically 34 weeks, but it was close enough. You all should feel glad that I like you, because really this isn't a good picture at all. (have I mentioned how much I hate pictures). I have no other updates for you really with regards to how things are going. We have another appointment on Thursday and things seem to moving a long fine.

As you can tell I don't look that much bigger than week 29. Maybe that's why I don't put up pictures. At some point though I should take a picture with that same outfit on to really see a difference. That was always fun when Jen did that. Brandon has days where he just says I look more pregnant than others, but still it's hard to believe that I'm due in 6 weeks!

Is it time to freak out?

Okay, so I'm not really freaking out at this particular moment, but the fact remains that I just realized today that there are less than 50 days left until the due date. As you can see above, I’ve finally added a ticker so you all can see our progress. Getting dangerously close to the end of that little ticker.

AND I know, I know, I need to add a picture. We tried to take one last night, but it was just too “dusky” outside and we had minimal time. The problem is this particular week we are not both home during daylight so it’s tough. We’ll work on it though and actually I hope to have pictures up from the tailgate tonight.

In other news, my guard has their first competition this weekend. Are we ready? Not at all. I had to cancel practice on Tuesday and well we really needed that time. Hopefully they’ll be focused tonight and we can get a lot done. Plus there is a football game on Friday so I can use that time to make them work. (just like in Bring it On)

Registering

So people keep asking us "Are you registered anywhere yet?" Well we're working on it. Last night we finally went to Target, and did a little. We'll probably add more, but we just don't really know what you're supposed to register for. We look at things and go "why would you need that" or "we won't need that for a while." It was actually much much easier to do the wedding registry (eons ago).

However, at least step one has happened. Step two will be Babys-R-Us. We'll keep you posted.

32-weeks

So no picture yet (unless I come back and add one later), but most of you who look at this will see me this weekend at the game so no biggie there. I did want to take a quick moment thought to let you know that all is still going well. I survived the 20+ hour bus ride to Rochester and 20+ hour bus ride home with minimal difficulties. Sure my feet looked like someone else’s for a few days after, but after a few nights of sleeping with my feet up, all is well again.

As far as doctor stuff goes, I'm still a freak of nature. I put on zero pounds over the last 2 weeks (since my last appointment) and my blood pressure is crazy low (but usually is). Doctor was cool with the weight because everything was measuring dead on and the baby felt the right size. I have decided the food/weight thing isn't fair though. This is the one time in life where it's pretty much acceptable to have weird cravings and eat like mad and well....I just don't have any of that. Brandon put it best last night - in the spirit of Singles - "Maybe your craving is not having cravings."

So that's the update - more to come after the weekend and hopefully lots of pictures from the game - GO HAWKS!
