29-weeks

week29.jpg
So this is what 29 weeks of pregnancy looks like in our world. I don't really have any mind blowing updates for you other than at my last appointment I finally put on weight. (I'm still in the negatives overall though.)

The big thing people have asked about recently is "Are you still marching?" Answer: Yes, yes I am. I'll know a lot more about my status after this weekend, but the doctor didn't seem too concerned about the whole thing. Sure she's concerned about heat and the 20-hour bus ride in my future, but the actual act of marching, not so much.

Happy, Happy Birthday to Me

birthday.JPG
That's right kiddies, today is my birthday. Twenty-nine years ago this picture was taken. (sorry Jacqueline, I cut you out, you were making a funny face anyway). Check out the lucious blonde hair. I've been dying it for years....okay maybe not, but it was pretty bright for a long time. This is one of the reasons that if Bootsy comes out with blonde hair, we really won't believe it until around the age of 8. Seeing as my eyes were always brown from day one though, my parents should have known that the blonde would not stick. Anyway, I have about as much blonde personality as I do a "Jenny" personality.

Hope you all have a great day and I promise to get an updated belly shot today or tomorrow.

Yes, we're fine

***UPDATE - the comments now include BC's take on this - well worth the read - thanks BC for sharing***

So as most of you have heard by now, yesterday at about 6:05pm the 35W bridge over the Mississippi collapsed. Last I heard there were 5 dead and many more reported injured. The damage itself is hard to put into perspective for people not from here, but it will be a very long time for a new bridge to be constructed. I will say it was interesting to hear BC's take on it while he and Brandon were watching the news together (and drinking) last night.

So to answer the questions: Neither Brandon nor I were on that bridge and in all reality, we rarely ever are. I was actually already in Mankato for sectionals (see Govies is good for something) and Brandon was either at home or at the gym, I'm not really sure.

I do work about 2 blocks (maybe) from the bridge. This morning there are police everywhere, trying to keep people away. I had to park a few blocks away as well because they are using our parking lot for the Red Cross and for people arriving from the NTSB. That really kind of put it in perspective just how close it really is.

I will say it was nice to hear from so many friends and family. Thank you for your concern.
