Sno Cone of Luv

Now that the information has had time to sink in, I was thinking today that some of you may actually have some questions for us about this whole baby thing. So I am going to try to answer all of the questions at once to just get it out there:

1. When are you due? October 30th
2. Due dates mean nothing to me, how far are you now? I’ll be 22 weeks on the 26th which is 5 months in pregnancy world. We’re on the down slope.
3. Are you finding out the sex? No
4. How are you feeling? I had a really easy first tri. I was a little nauseas during the day sometimes but only had one brief evening of praying to the porcelain god.
5. Can you feel it? Yes – in fact right now it’s reminding me where my bladder is
6. Why haven’t we gotten any “belly shots” yet? Because I’m not showing really at all. Still in all of my normal clothes, some of which fit better now than last summer.
7. How much weight have you gained? No one really asks this, because my friends are polite, but it is noteworthy to mention that from my first appointment at 8 weeks until my most recent at 20, I’ve lost 13 pounds. (4 in weeks 16-20). Baby is developing fine though so no one seems concerned yet. I’ve decided pregnancy is a great diet.
8. Are you marching Govies? Yes, until I can’t. I’m watching the heat, using lots of sunscreen and just kind of playing it by ear right now. My parade cut off is 90 degrees, but we really haven’t had that on a parade day yet. I hope to make it through the end of July, but the ultimate would be to march championships Labor Day weekend. (at almost 32 weeks)
9. Are you going to football games? Brandon will be at more of them than I will, but I know I’ll be at the Syracuse Game and homecoming, assuming all is going well. After that, again playing it by ear.
10. When’s the baby shower? I don’t really know how those things work so I’ll get back to you on that.

That’s about it. Overall everything has been fine and pretty easy (I’m lucky). There are days I can forget that I even am pregnant (until I want some sushi or alcohol). The whole not showing and lack of weight gain are a big part of that. Brandon painted the room this weekend and once the details are done in there we’ll post some pictures.

A name has been decided. . . for now.

So, as you may have heard, we are expecting a young one in late October. The pictures from the last post were from the 20th week. No, we did not learn the gender, nor do we intend to.

Yesterday Jenniffer was telling me about a conversation she had where it was asked what we refer to it as. Not knowing the gender, “he” and “she” are out, so unfortunately “it” is usually the choice. No longer is this the case.

Last night when doing some late-night grocery, I came to the decision that from here out, we shall refer to our developing sexless fetus as BOOTSY! Let the world sing. . .

As I type: listening to a mix of “happy” music on my ipod (Blowoff is playing at the moment. . . yay!)
