Don't Let's Start

How did you all let me go a month without updating the site? I blame all of you because it is your responsibility to make sure I’m doing my work……oh wait…..I think I just reverted back to the average high school student thinking process. I’m sorry.

So today you are getting another bulleted post. One of the reasons I haven’t written in a while is that I like to include pictures in the posts now, but I just haven’t uploaded any recently so you get another boring post.

  • The weekend of February 17th we went up to Lutsen, MN to go skiing. I think we both skied better than we ever have (Brandon especially) which was great considering we haven’t been skiing in nearly two years. For those of you not in the know, Lutsen is on the north shore of Lake Superior so it’s pretty freakin’ far north. The weather was a little chilly, but again, the skiing was good.

  • The next weekend I had another Govie’s rehearsal. The Baritone playing is going okay. Some days it’s good, some days not so good. Now good is a relative term here. Good for me, not for others. I do love the music though and look forward to getting outside where I’ll be more comfortable.

  • The next weekend I took my Praxis II exams in Math and PLT (which I can’t remember what that stands for). The math test had a lot of Calc. and the PLT was two hours of frantically writing essays. I’ll let you know how I did in late March. (and no this doesn't mean I'm definitely going back to teaching, just testing the waters.

  • March 5th we saw Reverend Horton Heat playing at 1st Ave in Minneapolis. It was a great show and they played so many good songs. Brandon also discovered a new band he likes from Chicago, The Tossers. They are kind of Irish in a crazy way. The night was topped off by a great girl fight right behind us

  • March 9th and 10th was another Govie rehearsal. We got a lot more music which I need to desperately work on. The high light of the weekend was tubing. If you have never done this, it was totally awesome and I discovered how much of “my father’s daughter” I am when I decided fast and smooth just wasn’t good enough. I wanted the bumpy one where you could push into jumps and lose contact with the tube, then slam back down. It was hilarious and great. I recommend it to you all.

  • March 17th – Of course St. Patrick’s Day. A little different than last year and in general pretty tame. We started the day watching Rugby at “The Local”. Ireland won! Then I went to St. Peter to march in a parade, stuck around for a little bit after the parade. Got to see and talk to a few people I don’t get to very often (which was very nice), then back home for a night of NCAA basketball.
  • There, you’re caught up. There should be two more short posts put up too with some other information sometime today. I’ll try to do better in the future.
