So Brandon hates you all, that’s why he hasn’t written in a while. Not really, we’ve just both been really busy. He’s working a ton right now trying to get assimilated to his new setting but will be switching to his regular schedule the end of the month.

As for me….wow, what a crazy week to be a Govenaire. In the past 9 days I have been doing something with Govies 8 of them. I have yet to sleep in the apartment for more than 4 days in a row. It all started on July 3rd with a corps business meeting and lovely dinner at Rob & Joe’s (the guys I lived with in 2004), July 4th parade-concert-parade-concert fireworks from the top of Patrick’s (best pub in St. Peter), July 5th sectionals (rehearsal for those not in the know), July 6th sewing flags a good portion of the day (but they’re gorgeous thanks to Norton’s great design), July 7th trip to Hinkley, MN for camping, July 8th parade-concert-rehearsal-concert then fun in downtown Hinkley, July 9th concert-parade in Lakeville, MN (a 2+ hour nap happened when I got home), July 10th show in Stillwater MN, and July 11th rehearsal and show in Mankato, MN. It’s been a little crazy, but we have about a week off now before our next rehearsal. Of course I’ll be practicing everyday between now and then.

I would just like to add that for me, I’m so happy to be back and I love being a Govenaire. I didn’t think I would miss it but the whole corps is made up of such wonderful people that it just feels good to be around them again. I wish all of my former HMBers could experience this type of marching experience and if you ever want to give it a shot, let me know. OH, and as a formal invitation, our home show is August 19th in St. Peter, MN. It would be great to have my own cheering section there so if you want to make a trip up to the Twin Cities to see some awesome performances, please do.
