Missing Words

So before anyone yells at us, we've been pretty busy since getting back so that's why we haven't updated the page. It will also be interesting to see how we adjust to updates just on general life, not adventures abroad. Will learn. Just to quickly update you though, I'm going to do the classic "bullet" update. Brandon can do something much more interesting later.

What we've been up to since our return:

  • Got back to Minneapolis on June 12th, stayed at BC's

  • Signed up for temporary insurance

  • June 13th-June 18th, stayed with my friend Karen from Govies

  • Some Govie rehearsals and I even was in the show last Saturday

  • Starting to look at cars, the Honda Civic is in the lead before test driving (also in the running, Mazda 3 & Toyota Corolla)

  • June 18th-June 21st, Hotel Frosty, good times were had

  • June 22nd-present, staying in BC's basement until we get into the apartment in July 1st

  • Practicing flag work and trying to get caught up
  • That's about it, it does keep you pretty busy though when you're constantly moving around. We're even going to be "out of town" this weekend for rehearsal and parades on Saturday and Sunday. Brandon starts work on Monday and I'm sure he'll have stuff to say about that later.

We promise to send out our contact information when it gets a little closer to when we'll actually be in the apartment. For now, you still have our e-mail addresses which woork pretty well.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

    Which Way to America?

We’re currently 40,000 feet in the air somewhere near Boston. Soon we will be starting our descent into JFK, so I’ll have to keep this very short. I certainly would hate to be yelled at for not stowing my portable electronic devices.

So, returning home, wherever that may be. Our adventure was cut short a bit, but we’re OK with that. What we do know is that we are very much looking forward to seeing our friends and families again. Also, we just want to express our appreciation for everyone who has helped us both in the process of getting to Ireland as well as getting home. Though we did not intend to burden anyone, I know we have along the way. Despite this, we have not heard one gripe or complaint, only support. You guys rock!

Tonight B.C. is going to be picking us up at MSP. On the way home he has promised to take us somewhere we can order a proper burger. I’ve been looking forward to this for some time now. I do love a tasty burger!

OK, time to go, can’t wait to see everyone again.

    Having a Blast

So today is our last day on our big trip. We're currently in Amsterdam and get on a plane back to Dublin in a few hours. The trip has gone very smoothly. We did try to miss our train out of Switzerland, but more on that later. We have had wonderful weather the further north we move. It's kind of crazy to think that the warmest days have been in Amsterdam and Rome was kind of chilly.

Yesterday we visited the old Heineken Brewery. They have a tour which is very Disneyland-esque, except with three 1/2 pints along the way. We took a picture there and if you would like to view it here is the link: Photo of us.

Brandon has been enjoying is vast beer selection in Belgium and Holland. I think he's up to 25 different beers, of course there were some duplicates of really good ones, but those don't count in the number. (this is not like the boys visit in March). I have had about 6 different brands of lambics, but mainly Krieks as that seems to be what the bars actually stock.

We have minimum time in this Internet Cafe, but willl write more when in Dublin. That you all for the comments. We'll figure out how to put the pictures up soon, but I'm not sure if they'll make it up before we're back in the states. I think we have met our "jeff amount of pictures quota" as we're now over 500, but they may not all make the final cut. Of the joy of a digital camera. (and thanks Jacqueline for letting us use your 1GB card)

As I type: listening to muffled music, other people typing, and a noisy air-conditioner.

    Too Much Wine

    Buongiorno!

Greetings from Rome. Jenniffer and I are winding down day four in Rome, which means soon we are to board the night train to Zurich. From there it will be off to Brussels/Bruges and Amsterdam. Before we left, we were instructed to take "Jeff Smith amount of pictures." I believe we have complied, as already we have taken over 200 pictures.

Today we've gone around doing all of the things we had not been able to fit into the other days we were here. Included in the day was a stop at la Montecarlo, one of Rome's best pizzarias. There we learned it was possible to order a litre of wine for only 6Euro! WOW! For those of you in the States, that translates to roughly $7.50. I've got to say, there isn't much else that would further enhance a rainy day in Rome.

Now for the group participation part. . . We plan on posting the pictures from this trip on our website at some point. How would you like them? These are your options:

    1. One massive album
    2. One album per city visited.
    3. One album per day.

PLEASE respond by clicking the "comments" link below. We appreciate your input greatly, and will try to check in again somewhere along the way.
